Rove beetle awareness
If you see a type of insect similar to ant, PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH IT! Because this insect is poisonous, and will cause your skin allergies and itching, if serious, it will damage your neural. If the venom goes into your eye, you will be blind!
Thailand health department has announce a notice and remind the public this rain season, must be aware and be careful of this type of insect, called ROVE BEETLE.

What if you accidentally touch this insect?
If you have accidentally touched this type of insect, you should wash your hand immediately, especially on the place which was bitten, and find a doctor as soon as possible. According to report, there are more than 20 types of rove beetle found in Thailand and are reported more than 100 cases in a year for such poisonous infection.
Rove beetle is active during day time, they will target small insect, plant’s pollen, of decay as their food. They are sensitive to flashing light, more light will obviously attract more beetles to come. Normally, rove beetle will not attack human, the best way to avoid rove beetle is to blow them away, never use your bare hand to blast them. Once the beetle is blasted, all the poison will be released from their body.
