Please read every single word and every single step as shown below, you should be able to start your own website at the end of the day.
1. To rent a web hosting space
Rent a web hosting space from the web server hosting company, the space is up to your choice, you can rent 5GB, 10GB, 50GB or even 300GB of web hosting depends on your needs, but obviously, the more space you rent the more you need to pay. To understand further, the hosting space that you are renting is to store any web pages that you want to share on the internet.
2. To purchase a domain
After you have register and rent a web hosting space, the next step is to purchase a domain. A domain is basically a address link for your website (i.e. www.d2dinfo.com), and is usually representing the heart of your website contents. Meaning, if your domain is www.elearning-marketing.com, from the name implies, we can know that the website is discussing about marketing, unless the webmaster intend to mess up himself, and talk about bikini girl in this domain. The domain name can be purchased from the web hosting company.
3. To set up the web hosting account
Once you have complete the hosting registration and domain purchase, you will be given a username and password for your web hosting and domain. If you are purchasing the domain other than the company where you rent the web hosting space. You would have more work to do, you have to point the domain name (DNS) to the hosting server. This is too technical or complicated to discuss about the procedure here, but usually the web hosting company will provide a tutorial on how to set up the web hosting and domain server.
Once your web hosting space and domain are both configured, you would need to wait for the domain to be propagated, this would take from 24 - 72 hrs.
4. Upload contents onto the web disk
Once your hosting server is successfully set up, you can start uploading file onto the web disk, and make sure the home page for your website is save as “index”. You have to make sure also to upload the file into the folder PUBLIC_HTML directory.
