What is Google Adsense?
Google adsense is an ad serving program run by Google, website owner or blogger is able to show this ad in their website or personal blog and earn money. The website owner or blogger who shows the ads in their website is known as a publisher. As a publisher, your website is allowed to provide “google for contents”, “google for search” and “google affiliate program” to the website users.
The publisher is able to earn revenue when somebody visit your website or blog and click on the ads, and the amount of adsense revenue earned by the publisher is based on the amount of money the advertiser is bidding on their adwords program. The ads shown from this adsense program will be in accordance to the contents of your website. For example, if your website is talking about “credit card” and this contents will be crawled by google and shows relevant ads regarding on “credit card” in your website.
Who should apply for google adsense program?
If you own a website or blog which is full of useful contents, and the contents must be acceptable by google. You are advised to read through the adsense program policies set by google before getting started, you may not, in any instance violate the rule set by google in the adsense program, some of the important rules are listed as follow:
- Click on your own ads for any instance is prohibited.
- Do not encourage website user to click on the ads by using phrases such as “click here”, visit these links” and so on.
- Do not publish violent contents, pornographic, gambling, hacking or craking contents and so on.
- Do not publish contents which is protected by copyright law unless you have the necessary legal rights to display the contents.
How much you can earn from adsense?
The adsense that your website are able to display can be either cost-per-click (CPC) or cost-per 1000 impressions (CPM) ads, while “AdSense for search” results pages show exclusively CPC ads. This means that advertisers pay either when users click on the ads, or when the advertiser’s ads is shown on your website. How much you can earn from the adsense program is depends on how much the advertiser bids on your website, as a publisher, you will receive part of the advertiser pays. So far, there is no report shown by google on the amount bid by the advertiser and the amount is able to earn by the adsense publisher before you participate in the adsense program. The best way to find out how much you can earn per click is participate in the program and start showing the ads.
Ads placing rules on your website
Adding adsense to your website is easy, after your application to adsense is approved, you can simply log in to your adsense account, create/customize your desired adsense unit. After the adsense unit is created, paste the html code generated by google into your website. Adsense offer a number of available ads format and advertising product. The ads that you are going to create is depends on the design of your website. Usually, you are advised to experiment with various types of ads format to optimize the visibility of the adsense. However, you are only allowed to place up to a maximum of 3 adsense unit in the same page, a maximum of 2 google for search box in the same page and up to 3 adsense units can be placed within the same page. You can always browse the webmaster guideline provided along with this adsense program in order to adhere to the rules for google adsense publisher.
